Building Power & Resisting Digital Voter Suppression

America's long-standing practices of voter suppression have thrived in the digital age. Not surprisingly, communities of color, citizens with limited-English proficiency, and those with disabilities are often targeted using traditional as well as digital discriminatory tactics.

In this RxT forum, we focused on building power and resisting digital voter suppression. Participants heard from movement leaders including LaTosha Brown from Black Voters Matter, Shireen Mitchell from Digital Sisters/as & Stop Online Violence Against Women, and Sabrina Hersi Issa from Rights x Tech and COVID Racial Impact Data Alliance on how this critical work was being shaped during the pandemic and what technologists could do to support a democracy where all people from all backgrounds could fully participate.
