Building Tech for Radical Innovation (Part 2)

Building Tech for Radical Innovation (Part 2)

Early into 2021, we had already endured multiple experiences of collective traumas and collective joys, all facilitated and witnessed through major technology and social media platforms. We had shifted to a collective sigh of relief as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris officially became President and Vice President. Perhaps for the first time in a long time, the creation of a better world didn't just feel possible but real.

We were excited to bring you the second installment of our Building Tech for Radical Innovation session. Continuing our conversation from February's session, we invited participants to join us to share space with the extraordinary Charlene Carruthers, a movement leader, and author of Unapologetic: A Black, Queer, and Feminist Mandate for Radical Movements..

The questions on the table were: How could we sustain these possibilities and leverage technology to not just serve as a shield for future fights but to unlock radical possibilities for more inclusive futures? How could we build momentum and power for sustained change?

Participants heard Charlene's insights on what was needed from technologists and philanthropists to sustain this momentum, and what could be done to unlock new possibilities in the fight against misinformation, elevate the priorities of technology platform accountability, and support power-building in communities of color.
