Technology, Justice & Care in Classrooms
Education is a human right.
As we approached the end of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic showed no signs of slowing down and technology had taken center stage in facilitating access to education. With infection rates soaring again, education and care for students were simultaneously at the forefront of ongoing political debates, yet also consistently shoved to the backburner for resources -- much to the detriment of low-income and BIPOC families. These were the same communities that had sacrificed the most during the past nine months, serving on the under-recognized and under-resourced frontlines of that pandemic.
Education should not be yet another sacrifice.
Our featured guests, Mario Jovan Shaw, cofounder of Profound Gentlemen, and Idalin Bobe, founder of TechActivist.org, joined us as we explored the then-current state of Technology, Justice, and Care in Classrooms. We discussed what technologists could do to show up more effectively for the then-current generations of children and help enable them to thrive. Did you join us for this envisioning of what education and care could look like in 2021 and beyond?
